The Richard Feynman Library was founded on 31 October 1998. It is named after the famous Jewish-American physicist Richard Feynman, who has been one of the greatest physics teachers in the 20th century. He had studied at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and had taught at Cornell University and at the California Institute of Technology. He had won the physics Nobel Prize for his intuitive method to describe the electron-photon interaction.
He was always aware of his personal limits, the limits of his models, the limits of physics, and the limits of his audience. By always pointing to these limits he revealed his tremendous respect for himself, for his work, for physics, and for his audience. He was a real scientist - not only in his work but also in his personal statements. He behaved quite normal, he talked quite normal, he was often kidding. He was neither a prophet nor a saint nor a mystical nor a sorcerer. Unlike many other famous persons he was not arrogant at all.
The purpose of the Richard Feynman Library is to give literature recommendations for any topic. The recommendations are given free of charge.
